This program and our esteemed panel composed of our co-sponsoring organizations explores legal and social standards regarding bias and discrimination, including the different types of protected classes and their specific application within the legal profession. It enhances the viewer’s ability to recognize signs of both overt and subtle bias in the legal workplace while providing strategies for eliminating bias and discrimination within the law firm, courtroom, and when dealing with clients.
Learning Objectives:
- Recognize overt and subtle signs of bias and stereotyping and identify tools to stay aware of your law firm’s
practices. - Identify various classes of individuals protected under different laws and standards.
- Grasp ethical rules and standards prohibiting bias and discrimination in employment and client interactions.
- Solve common dilemmas that may arise in the law firm environment, courtroom and with clients.
This program has been approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 110 minutes (2.2) of total CLE credits in Ethics and Professionalism. By virtue of reciprocity, this program may also be applied for 2.2 NY CLE Credits. An application for NY Credit in Diversity, Inclusion and Elimination of Bias is pending.
