The Consumer Fraud Prosecution Section provides legal representation to the Division of Consumer Affairs, Office of Consumer Protection, in investigations as well as civil and administrative actions to address violations of the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act and related statutes and regulations, including the Contractors’ Registration Act, and the Charitable
Registration and Investigation Act. The Section also represents the State of New Jersey and/or the Division in multistate group investigations involving consumer protection issues.

DUTIES: Under the supervision of Assistant Attorneys General in the Affirmative Civil Enforcement Practice Group, the Section Chief and/or the Assistant Section Chief of the Consumer Fraud Prosecution Section will be responsible for handling a wide range of consumer protection issues; performs other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor. Admission to practice as an Attorney at Law in the State of New Jersey is required.

EXPERIENCE: Two years (2) years of experience as a practicing attorney.
LICENSE: Appointee will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
