Wilson Elser is currently seeking an Attorney experienced in Conflicts of Interest

The position will work closely with the firm’s General Counsel and conflicts analysis team in managing, researching and monitoring potential conflicts of interest and risk management issues to avoid possible legal conflicts and business issues. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants to take on an important and unique leadership role with a national law firm.

This is a full-time position offering flexibility in working location. Candidates who are interested in remote work / telecommuting are welcome to apply.

The Position

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in any state; NY or NJ admission preferred
  • 5 plus years of defense litigation experience
  • Conflicts clearance experience in a law firm setting
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the firm personnel
  • Superior writing and research skills including strong computer literacy

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor potential conflicts of interest and risk management issues to help the firm avoid possible legal conflicts and business issues
  • Work closely with the firm’s Partners, Management Leadership and General Counsel team
  • Assist in clearing lateral attorney hires of any potential conflicts
  • For lateral attorney hires, assist in implementing ethical screens and have attorneys obtain waivers in order to facilitate conflicts clearance
  • Assist with other projects related to conflicts clearance as needed
  • Study and remain current with laws and rules pertaining to conflicts of interest in each jurisdiction where our offices are located
  • Provide lawyers, HR, and other management team members with reviews and summaries of results of conflict reviews
