Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC has an immediate opening for an experienced Trademark Prosecution Paralegal in our West Orange, NJ office.

An exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join a dynamic team and work on a variety of interesting cases. Candidates must have paralegal certification. Some of the major responsibilities of the position include:

• Significant experience with USPTO trademark prosecution and maintenance a must.
• Foreign trademark prosecution experience a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with standard trademark docketing software a must (experience with Patricia/Patrix a plus)
• IP litigation support a bonus, but not required.

The ability to work under a team structure is essential as the support staff is the foundation of the firm. Constant communication with other administrative staff and attorneys is key. A professional demeanor with clients is a must.

Candidates must have solid organization skills, attention to detail, initiative, resourcefulness, the ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast paced environment, the ability to manage confidential information with discretion, professional demeanor, and the capability to organize, prioritize and meet multiple deadlines. Requirements include: prior experience in a law firm; excellent command of MS Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel; experience with PDF Docs/Adobe or similar application, Netdocuments or similar document management application; Patricia or other similar Trademark docketing software, Aderant or similar billing software experience. Experience with Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams.

The ideal candidate will possess a 4-year degree and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Trademark Prosecution practice area.
